Faraday Battery Challenge Investment Readiness Programme 2022

Advanced Material Development is delighted to announce it has been selected as one of eleven SME’s for the 2022 Faraday Investment Programme. The programme will invest up to £330 million in research and innovation projects, facilities to drive the growth of a strong battery business in the UK and is designed to position the SME group in the best place possible to engage and present to investors active in the battery sector.

Through its expertise in 2D nanomaterials AMD has been able to produce a variety of robust printed structures for electrodes, strain sensing and thermal interfaces that show improved conductivity and mechanical flexibility whilst dramatically improving sustainability, a core value of the company.

John Lee, Chief Executive Officer of AMD said "This potential investment will significantly enhance AMD’s ability to rapidly advance our materials technology development and work with our supply chain to further embed our technology in this fast-growing sector. In addition to battery related work, we have also developed advanced EMI shielding products which help to mitigate high frequency switching noise within the electrical management and motor systems with obvious implications for the automotive industry."
