Advanced Material Development is very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Izabela Jurewicz to its Advisory Panel
Dr Jurewicz is currently a lecturer in Soft Matter Science at the University of Surrey and the Principal Investigator across AMD’s Surrey based work. Having been a former student and researcher for Professor Alan Dalton, AMD’s Chief Scientific Advisor, Izabela retains close links with our Sussex team and adds a huge amount of leverage to the collaborative efforts of the team.
Dr. Jurewicz received a PhD in Physics in 2009 from the University of Surrey. Following four years work as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, in 2013 she was awarded a prestigious and highly competitive EPSRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
As a lecturer at the University of Surrey since 2016, Izabela now leads the Interdisciplinary Research on Interface Structures (IRIS) Group in the Department of Physics. The work here is focusing on controlled self-assembly of nanomaterials, polymeric photonic crystals, wearable smart textiles, transparent electrodes for touch screen applications and synthetic scaffolds for tissue engineering, all key to the AMD programme.
AMD CEO John Lee says “Izabela has been working with the AMD team for some time now and at last I am delighted to confirm her joining our Advisory Panel to bring her tremendous experience in soft matter science. We continue to grow our relationship with the IRIS team at Surrey and look forward to announcing further research programmes”
Izabela has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, and her work is highlighted in over 50 international press releases.
